Veteran Marathi actor Ashok Saraf was honoured with the Padma Shri by President Droupadi Murmu for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema. The veteran star attended the ceremony, where he received the prestigious honour from the President of the country. After this special milestone in his career, he took to social media to express heartfelt gratitude. He penned a special post, stating that it was a significant moment in his life.

While thanking the Maharashtra government, his family, co-stars, and fans, he wrote in Marathi: “The Padma Shri honour is a special moment in my life. I thank the Maharashtra Government. Thank you to my family, colleagues, and audience — this wouldn’t have been possible without your love. Let your love and blessings remain the same forever.”

Before receiving the award, Ashok Saraf greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, President Droupadi Murmu, and other dignitaries at the ceremony — a gesture that won widespread appreciation. Affectionately known as "Mama," Saraf was born in Mumbai in 1947 and began his acting journey in 1969.
