With the growing use of AI, several actresses are facing the grave issue of their fake AI-generated pictures and videos being circulated on social media. Earlier on Wednesday, Telugu actress Sreeleela shared a long post criticising the misuse of AI. Now, Vakeel Saab actress, Nivetha Thomas, has taken a stand voicing her displeasure over her AI-generated pictures.
Nivetha Thomas threatens legal action
The actress took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "It has come to my attention that AI-generated images misusing my identity and a recent photograph I shared on my social media are being circulated online. The creation and circulation of such content without consent is deeply disturbing, unacceptable, and unlawful. It constitutes digital impersonation and a serious invasion of my privacy (sic)."

Threatening legal action, Nivetha further wrote, "I am putting this on record. Those responsible, including accounts operating behind anonymity, are directed to immediately stop and take down such content. I urge others to recognise the harm in enabling this behaviour. Do not reshare, engage with, or legitimise such material in any form. Any continued circulation will be treated as deliberate misuse of my identity and escalated legally (sic)."
Sreeleela slams AI-generated pics
Sreeleela had taken to her Instagram page to share an emotional appeal with social media users. She wrote, "I put my hands together and request every social media user not to support Al-generated nonsense. There is a difference between using and abusing technology. Advancements in technology are meant to simplify life, not complicate it, in my opinion."
Highlighting how every girl out there is a daughter, granddaughter, sister, friend, or colleague, the actress said, "We wish to be part of an industry that spreads joy, with the confidence that we are in a protected environment."
The actress concluded, "I thank my well-wishers for bringing this to my notice. I have always taken things with a pinch of salt and lived in my own world, but this is deeply disturbing and devastating. I also see my fellow colleagues going through the same and am reaching out on behalf of everyone. With grace and dignity, and with trust in my audience, I ask you to please stand by us. The authorities will be taking it over from here."
