Renu Desai addressed the controversy surrounding her viral outburst at a press conference on street dog awareness, clarifying that she was provoked by a man who tried to hit her. She also criticised trolls for dragging her personal life and ex-husband Pawan Kalyan into the issue
Renu Desai and Pawan Kalyan
Actor Renu Desai recently made headlines after she lost her cool at a press conference organised to raise awareness about street dogs. Amid the controversy, Renu shared a clarification and slammed trolls for bringing up her ex-husband, actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan.
Renu says she has no one to protect her
On Tuesday, Renu shared a video of herself enjoying the calm at the Varanasi ghats while boating. Along with the video, she penned a note that appeared above it. “I don't have a father or mother or an elder brother or a husband to protect me. All the hate that you spew on me for no fault of mine, I just calmly share with Devi and Mahadev. I know that they hear my pain and see my tears,” she wrote, adding a folded hands emoji.
She also captioned the post, “I never fought for my own personal rights in public ever. But I will scream and shout till everyone understands that killing all innocent dogs just for the mistakes of some aggressive dogs is wrong. You can talk as much negative and hateful nonsense about me, but just remember whose presence I share my pain and tears with.”

Why Renu Desai yelled at press conference
On Monday, a video of Renu yelling at someone during a press conference went viral on social media. Initially, it was reported that she was shouting at a member of the press. However, she later issued a clarification explaining the reason behind her sudden outburst. Renu said she was reacting to a 55-year-old man who had argued with her and attempted to hit her.
She also lashed out at trolls who commented on the viral clip without context. “I have seen some comments on my way home. How correct is it to comment on my personal life? You’re saying that’s why Pawan Kalyan left me, that I am cranky. Do I get any money while fighting for street dogs? I am not even fighting for them; I am fighting for human life. And you’re making such disgusting comments. You even said I would learn a lesson if my children died from dog bites. Why would you say that? I am a mother who knows the value of life,” she said.
