Kannada actor and politician K Shivaram passed away at the age of 70 in Bengaluru on Thursday. He was well-known for his performances in movies like Baa Nalle Madhuchandrake (1993) and Tiger (2017). K Shivaram had been facing various health problems and was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in the city for the past few days. The final ceremonies for K Shivaram will take place on Friday, March 1.

K Shivaram was born into a less fortunate family, and his father was the theater coach S. Kempaiah. He began his acting career with Nagathihalli Chandrashekar's adaptation of the novel "Baa Nalle Madhuchandrake," where he played a significant role. The romantic thriller unexpectedly became a hit, but despite this success, K Shivaram struggled to establish himself as a prominent actor in Kannada cinema. His only other noteworthy performance was as Shivram Nayak in Nanda Kishore's action film "Tiger," where his brother-in-law Pradeep played the lead role of Ashok Nayak. The movie also featured the late veteran actor Om Puri in a crucial role.

Netizens took to 'X' to share their condolences:

In addition to his acting career, K Shivaram gained recognition for being the first person to successfully clear the UPSC exam in Kannada in 1986, as reported by The Hindu. After serving as a civil servant for several years until his retirement in 2013, he ventured into politics. K Shivaram initially joined the Indian National Congress, later shifted to the Janata Dal (Secular), and eventually settled within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), where he remained active for seven years.
