Ashutosh Gowariker returns to acting after a long hiatus with the Marathi film Ventilator, produced by Priyanka Chopra.

When he was first approached for the role by director Rajesh Mapuskar, Ashu had turned it down. But, later, Rajesh got PeeCee to call him. She told him there was no way she would take a 'no' from him. He finally relented.

Meanwhile, we hear Ashu is keen to produce and direct a Marathi film, but is yet to find the right script.
