Deepika Padukone has been making headlines following her exit from two major films, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit and Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD sequel. The industry has been buzzing with the debate around the actress's alleged 8-hour work shift demand ever since. While many from the industry have expressed their views on the same, recently producer SKN weighed in at an event for Rashmika Mandanna’s upcoming Telugu film The Girlfriend, saying Rashmika is the 'only actor' without such restrictions.

Producer SKN praises Rashmika Mandanna

Producer SKN was seen taking the stage at the event wherein he praised Rashmika for not demanding strict work hours. Although he did not mention names, he made a clear reference to Deepika's alleged 8-hour work request, saying, "At a time when there’s debate on how many hours one should work, there’s only one heroine in pan-India who’s willing to work however many hours needed.”

He further shared, "She (Rashmika Mandanna) views work with love, not in terms of hours. Her commitment is about timing, not strict limits. This is why everyone feels like Rashmika is part of the family." The Thamma actress seemed overwhelmed by the praise and couldn’t stop smiling at the praise.

On the work front, Rashmika Mandanna has had a busy year ahead. She was seen in Bollywood films including Chhaava, Sikandar, and most recently Thamma this year, along with Kuberaa in Telugu and Tamil. Next, she will be seen in The Girlfriend, which is scheduled to release in theatres on November 7. Meanwhile, she also has Cocktail 2 and Mysaa lined up.

About Deepika Padukone's 8-hour work demand controversy

According to reports, Deepika exited Spirit and Kalki 2898 AD sequel for requesting an 8-hour work shift after the birth of her daughter. The actress addressed this issue during an interview with CNBC-TV18. She stated, “By virtue of being a woman, if that's coming across as being pushy or whatever, then so be it."

Deepika also pointed out how many prominent male stars in the industry have been working 8-hour shifts for years without making negative headlines. She also highlighted that despite the film industry being called such, it is a very “disorganised” one.
