Undeniably, the most catchy song of 2021 was Oo antava from Pushpa: The Rise, thanks to Devi Sri Prasad’s composition and Samantha’s sensuous moves. Last week, the makers of Pushpa 2: The Rule had a discussion about who should be roped in to front a similarly styled dance number. We’ve heard that Janhvi Kapoor and Triptii Dimri were the contenders, and after much deliberation, director Sukumar and the makers zeroed in on Dimri.

Two reasons apparently drove the decision. A source reveals, “The song has to be shot immediately. So, the actor in question would have to report to Hyderabad soon for a seven-day shoot. Since Janhvi is busy with Mr & Mrs Mahi’s promotions and will do a week of post-release promotions, Triptii seemed the practical choice. Her surge in popularity after Animal’s [2023] success was another reason.”

Ganesh Acharya is choreographing the piece. Allu Arjun’s August release has created much anticipation among the audience. Yesterday, the makers teased a new number, titled The Couple song. Sources close to the actor say that she is busy with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 shoot right now. It all depends on her busy schedule.
