Riteish Deshmukh's historical drama, Raja Shivaji, has become the highest-grossing Marathi film of all time, beating Nagraj Manjule's 2016 film Sairat. The film has so far collected a worldwide gross total of Rs 114.80 crore

Back in 2016, Nagraj Manjule's film Sairat created history by becoming the first-ever Marathi film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office. Since then, for a decade now, no Marathi film has managed to surpass that record. But Riteish Deshmukh’s historical drama Raja Shivaji has created history by achieving this feat. Raja Shivaji has emerged as the highest-grossing Marathi film of all time.
Raja Shivaji becomes the highest-grossing Marathi film
The film has witnessed a strong and consistent performance at the box office since its release on May 1, 2026. Raja Shivaji opened to exceptional numbers, earning more than Rs 30 crore net during its first weekend. It then continued its successful run in the following weeks, collecting Rs 57.70 crore net by the end of its first week and Rs 84 crore net by the end of the second week.
