Sreeleela has spoken out strongly against the misuse of AI after deepfake images of her went viral online. The actress urged social media users to stop supporting such content and called for a safer, respectful industry environment

South actress Sreeleela is emerging as movie industry's new buzz girl, and she is making the right kind of noise even before her big Hindi film debut. On Wednesday, the actress publicly called out the misuse of artificial intelligence and deepfake content. This comes after AI-generated pictures of the actress in sensual poses was being circulated on social media.
Sreeleela says no to AI-generated content
Sreeleela took to her Instagram and X handle and penned a note urging users not to support such AI content. “I put my hands together and request every social media user not to support AI-generated nonsense. There is a difference between using and abusing technology. Advancements in technology are meant to simplify life, not complicate it, in my opinion. Every girl out there is a daughter, granddaughter, sister, friend, or colleague, even if she chooses art as one of her professions. We wish to be part of an industry that spreads joy, with the confidence that we are in a protected environment."

Sreeleela speaks for industry colleagues
The actress further said that the pictures doing the rounds have left her deeply disturbed and also said that many of her colleagues have faced the same thing. "I have been unaware of many things happening online due to my schedule, and I thank my well-wishers for bringing this to my notice. I have always taken things with a pinch of salt and lived in my own world, but this is deeply disturbing and devastating. I also see my fellow colleagues going through the same and am reaching out on behalf of everyone. With grace and dignity, and with trust in my audience, I ask you to please stand by us. The authorities will be taking it over from here."
Sreeleela will soon be making her Bollywood debut opposite Kartik Aaryan in Anurag Basu directorial.
When Priyanka Mohan raised concern about AI
It may be recalled that another top actress, Priyanka Arul Mohan, had raised concerns about the same issue in October this year.
Actress Priyanka Arul Mohan, who is popular in both the Tamil and Telugu film industries, had said, "Some AI-generated images falsely depicting me have been circulating. Please stop sharing or spreading these fake visuals. AI should be used for ethical creativity and not misinformation. Let’s be mindful of what we create and what we share. Thank you."
