Suriya and Trisha’s Karuppu ran into last-minute release trouble after unresolved financial issues forced the cancellation of its special 9 a.m. shows. Director RJ Balaji urged fans to keep faith, assuring them the film would still release on Thursday

Suriya and Trisha-starrer Karuppu was all scheduled to be released in theatres on May 15. The makers had also secured special permission from the newly formed Tamil Nadu government to hold 9 am shows on Thursday morning. However, the film directed by RJ Balaji landed in last-minute release trouble. The 9 am show was cancelled after intense discussions between makers and stakeholders that went on till late on Wednesday night.

Amid the delay, the film's director RJ Balaji put out a post on X, exuding faith in God and urging fans to keep the faith, saying the film would definitely release on Thursday.
