The Hyderabad police have reportedly booked Tamil and Telugu film actress Dimple Hayathi, along with her husband David. The two were booked after their househelp allegedly lodged a complaint accusing them of harassment, assault, and abuse.

According to reports, the complainant, a 22-year-old girl named Priyanka Bibar from Rayagada district in Odisha, arrived in Hyderabad on September 22 to seek work. The same day, she was placed as a maid at the couple's residence in Vamsiram's Westwood Apartment, Shaikpet, by an agency.
In her statement to the police, Priyanka reportedly claimed that since joining, she was subjected to constant humiliation. She also claimed that she was denied proper food, apart from being verbally abused and insulted with remarks such as, "Your life is not even equal to my shoes."
A dispute reportedly broke out between the couple and Priyanka on September 29, wherein Priyanka and David allegedly abused her and even threatened to kill her parents. When she tried to record the altercation, David reportedly snatched her phone, smashed it, and attempted to assault her. The 22-year-old further claimed that her clothes were also torn during the scuffle and that she narrowly escaped the incident before approaching the police with her agent’s help.
According to a Telugu Scribe report, the househelp also alleged that an attempt was made to film her nude videos. Based on her complaint, the Filmnagar police registered a case under Sections 74, 79, 351(2), and 324(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Dimple Hayathi is a 27-year-old actress who made her acting debut with the Telugu film Gulf in 2017. Later in 2021, she was seen in Aanand L Rai's Atrangi Re, which also featured Dhanush, Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar in lead roles. She essayed the role of Dhanush's ex-fiance Mandakini in the film.
Apart from this, she has also been a part of films like Ramabanam, Veeramae Vaagai Soodum, Khiladi, Eureka, Gaddalakonda Ganesh and Devi 2.
Notably, this is not the first time Dimple has faced legal wrath. Earlier, in 2023, DCP Rahul Hegde had filed a criminal case against Dimple Hayathi for damaging his car in the HUDA Enclave parking lot at the journalist’s colony. Dimple, accompanied by her then-boyfriend Victor David, allegedly damaged Rahul’s car after a dispute over a parking space.
