The character introduction teaser of Yash from his upcoming actioner, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown Ups, was unveiled on January 8 marking Yash's 40th birthday. The two and a half minute long video has taken the internet by storm. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma also seems to be gushing over the new teaser, as he expressed strong praise of director Geetu Mohandas.

Ram Gopal Varma reacted to the teaser on X (formerly Twitter), expressing his disbelief that the film and the teaser were made by a woman director. He wrote on X, "After seeing the TheNameIsYash starring trailer of Toxic, I have no doubt that GeethuMohandas_  is the ultimate symbol of Women Empowerment ..No Male director is Man enough in comparison to this Woman .. I still can't believe she shot this."

The teaser opens in a cemetery during a funeral. However, soon, the stillness is broken by a bunch of goons who take over. Soon, a car arrives on the scene and inside the vehicle, an intimate moment escalates the tension, followed by an explosion that shatters the calm.

Yash makes a dramatic entry through thick fog, and a cigar in hand. He appears shirtless and tattooed, as he slips into an oversized black coat as he mouths the line, "Daddy's home."

When Ram Gopal Varma took a dig at Toxic

Interestingly, Ram Gopal Varma had earlier taken a dig at Toxic over its clash at the box office with Dhurandhar. “DHURANDHAR 2’s BITE will be TOXIC,” Ram Gopal Varma wrote on X. Earlier, he had also taken a jibe at South Indian cinema while praising Dhurandhar saying, “THE FIRE BALL of the SOUTHIES invasion into BOLLYWOOD has been KICKED back by AdityaDharFilms’ left foot, named #Dhurandhar, and now his right foot is getting ready with Dhurandhar 2. From what I saw of the second part, if the first SCARED them, the second will TERRIFY them.”

Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown Ups is produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. Alongside Yash, the film alap features Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth, whose first looks were unvieled ahead of the teaser.
