Actor Vijay Deverakonda recently visited his village in Telangana with his bride, Rashmika Mandanna. The couple later greeted villagers at a public function during their visit. A stage was set up from where the newlyweds addressed the crowd. During his speech, Vijay announced scholarships for Class 9 and 10 students from government schools in Telangana.

The announcement comes shortly after Vijay and Rashmika’s wedding. The actor revealed that the scholarship scheme will benefit students of Class 9 and 10 studying in government schools in the Achampet Division of Telangana. He shared that students from 44 schools will benefit from the initiative.

The scheme aims to support students’ education and help them continue their studies at a crucial stage without financial burden. The announcement was met with loud cheers from the crowd. The Arjun Reddy actor also promised fellow villagers that he would visit them more often going forward.

Earlier, the couple sent out trucks filled with sweets to be distributed across the nation. They also organised nationwide annadanam in temples to include people in their festivity. The couple was seen personally distributing sweets at Tirupati temple on Sunday morning.

Rashmika and Vijay tied the knot in Udaipur on February 26 in the presence of their closest friends and family. The couple confirmed their wedding a few days prior, calling it the “Virosh wedding.” After the ceremony, they flew back to Hyderabad and announced annadanam (food donation drives) and the distribution of sweets in various cities to celebrate their marriage.

The couple is set to host their reception in Hyderabad on March 4 on an invite-only basis. Notably, the reception was initially planned as an exclusive gathering for members of the Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada film fraternities, along with prominent political and administrative leaders. However, as per police advice, the guest list has reportedly been revised.
