Over the weekend, a video went viral of two women who claimed that Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda are set to get married at Udaipur’s City Palace, and showed the preparations underway at the venue. A bit of digging revealed that a week-long celebration will kick off on February 2 in the heritage property of Rajasthan.
Earlier, reports indicated that the two actors — who have been rumoured to be dating since 2018 — would tie the knot on February 26. But now, word is that it has been advanced to February 5. A source told mid-day, “On February 2, the pre-wedding festivities will begin. The sangeet, haldi, and mehendi functions have been lined up, followed by the wedding and an intimate reception. The family astrologers suggested that the couple avoid February 26 as the wedding date, instead recommending February 5.”
Sources within event-planning networks claim that the celebration will be strictly private, limited to family and a tight circle of friends. Bengaluru-based florists are said to be coordinating large consignments to Rajasthan during the week.
Another source in the wedding services space described the affair as “traditional with a royal aesthetic, but not over the top”, while refusing to confirm the date.
