Anumol took home Bigg Boss Malayalam 7's trophy and Rs 42.55 lakh, reduced from the announced Rs 50 lakh because a new mid-season rule allowed contestants to earn money through tasks, with their winnings deducted from the champion’s prize. Aneesh, a commoner, finished as the first runner-up

The big finale of Mohanlal's Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 finished on a colourful note, with actress-anchor Anumol being declared grand champion. She is only the second woman to win an episode of Bigg Boss Malayalam. Along with the prized trophy, she received a prize money of Rs 42,55,210 (Rs 42.55 lakh).

Although host Mohanlal said that the champion would receive Rs 50 lakh, a new system was established midway through the event. Unlike the customary "money box" competition, in which one person may depart with a cash reward, this time a novel structure allowed every roommate to earn money by completing a number of activities.

Here's why Anumol took decreased prize money

Several such games took place inside the mansion, with several contestants winning large sums. Fathima Noora, a contender at the time, reportedly got Rs 3.5 lakh for one work. It was then disclosed that the money gained by candidates in these challenges will be subtracted from the grand champion's award. That is the reason why Anumol had to leave with Rs 42.55 lakh instead of the full Rs 50 lakh.

Aneesh, a commoner, emerged as the first runner-up. Earlier in the day, finalists Shanavas, Nevin, and Akbar were eliminated from the competition and named second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Before the finals, audience polls indicated Aneesh as the frontrunner, with Anumol close behind.

All about Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7

Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 debuted with 20 contestants, including Renu Sudhi, Appani Sarath, Shaitya Santhosh, Adhila, Noora, Sarika, Ranjeet, Gizele Thakral, Binny Noobin, Rena Fathima, Abhilash, Aryan Kathuria, RJ Bincy, Oneal Sabu, and Kalabhavan Sariga, as well as finalists Aneesh, Anumol, Nevin, Akbar, and Shanavas. The season was notable for its eclectic mix of participants, a shift from previous editions that skewed more toward recognizable celebrities. And Mohanlal as their host.

The challenges were also more difficult, with unexpected twists (pani) that made the game unpredictable from week to week. The show also made waves for allegedly using public relations operations outside the house to influence audience perceptions of the candidates. This is the first time in Bigg Boss Malayalam history that a commoner has reached the finale, marking a significant moment for the show.
