Ishit Bhatt, the 10-year-old KBC Junior contestant, apologised after clips of his curt behaviour with Amitabh Bachchan went viral online. Despite his overconfidence, Bachchan handled the situation gracefully as Ishit later expressed regret for any offence caused
Ishit Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan
Last week, a young contestant from Amitabh Bachchan’s show Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 went viral on social media. The 10-year-old, Ishit Bhatt, participated in the special KBC Junior week. His curt tone and interruptions during the reality game show drew widespread criticism online. A week after the backlash, he took to his Instagram handle to apologise for his behaviour.
KBC 17 junior contestant apologises
As reported by India Today, following online criticism and trolling, a video shared by the Instagram handle ishit_bhatt_official showed Ishit extending a heartfelt apology. The clip also featured him requesting a photo with Amitabh Bachchan, who obliged. Alongside the video, he shared a note expressing regret for his behaviour on set.
“Hello everyone, I want to sincerely apologise for my behaviour on Kaun Banega Crorepati. I know many people felt hurt or disappointed by the way I spoke, and I truly regret it. At that moment, I got nervous, and my attitude came out completely wrong. It wasn’t my intention to be rude — I respect Amitabh Bachchan, sir, and the entire KBC team deeply,” he wrote.
Why was Ishit Bhatt trolled?
Ishit Bhatt, a Class 5 student from Gandhinagar, Gujarat, took over the hot seat recently. His confident behaviour on the show caused clips to go viral online. He often answered questions without options and insisted he didn’t need explanations, which many described as rude and disrespectful.
Netizens expressed concerns over his interruptions and cheeky remarks, with some even questioning his parents’ guidance. Despite this, Amitabh Bachchan remained calm and handled the situation gracefully, often playing along with Ishit’s enthusiasm.
During the episode, Ishit answered questions even before Bachchan could read the options. He also told Amitabh not to waste time explaining the rules, claiming he already knew them. While confident initially, he stumbled on the fifth question, requested options, and chose the wrong answer, leaving him without any winnings.
Chinmayi Sripaada slams trolls
While many mocked the child and called him out for his behaviour, singer Chinmayi Sripaada slammed the naysayers. She wrote, “An adult tweeting that they ‘hate’ a kid says a lot. Adults here have been foul-mouthed and abusive, but they stayed silent when children died due to cough syrup. Yet they gang up to bully one overexcited kid. What a terrible ecosystem.”
