Mona Singh

Mona Singh has completed two decades as an actor in the industry. Over the years she shone as a beacon of versatility and charm in an industry teeming with talent. She has etched her name in the hearts of audiences across various platforms, be it OTT, theatre, or television. As we celebrate 20 years of her incredible journey, it's evident that Mona Singh is, undeniably, one of the most lovable actors in the entertainment world.

Mona's rise to stardom was meteoric, and she became a household name as Jassi in ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi’. Her portrayal of the endearing yet relatable Jassi captured the imagination of millions and left an indelible mark on Indian television. “No one knew how I looked. But hearing about the reaction to the show was pretty overwhelming even though I was mostly shooting every single day and returning home late. On certain days, when I would return early, from every floor of my building I could hear 'Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin' playing on television at 9:30 pm. Everyone in my building was watching Jassi but no one knew that I lived there,” Singh said during a recent interview with Indian Express.

What truly sets Mona apart is her adaptability. While over the years since Jassi, Mona appeared in several projects in TV and cinema, nothing clicked like her performances on OTT shows. Mona Singh essayed the quirky yet sensitive character of Bulbul Jauhari with utmost integrity in the second season of the hit show 'Made In Heaven'.

While Mona broke the content pattern on television with Jassi, she also hopped on the OTT platform wave long before it became a popular trend. In 2018, she made her limited series debut with 'Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain' where she essayed the role of Ananya. The series also stars Rohit Roy. In the same year, she featured in TVF's show 'Yeh Meri Family' set in the late 1990s. Mona played the role of a mother to tweens and the show really struck a chord among 90s kids, an era that is unidentifiable to many today.

In 2019, she was seen in ZEE5 and ALT Balaji series Mission Over Mars.  She next appeared in Black Widows on ZEE5.

In 2023, Mona Singh peaked with her performance in shows like 'Kafas', 'Made In Heaven', and the recently released Netflix show 'Kaala Paani'.

Mona Singh's appeal extends beyond just her acting. She radiates an infectious warmth and authenticity that makes her a joy to watch on screen. She has the ability to make you laugh, cry, and feel deeply invested in her characters, leaving a lasting impact with each role she takes on.

Time and again, Mona Singh has proven her mettle by embracing new platforms and challenging herself with diverse roles. Whether it's through the small screen, the grandeur of the theatre, or the convenience of OTT platforms, Mona's presence resonates with viewers of all ages.
