It’s imagination that binds artists together. The realm of ideas, per se. Artists, photographers and writers will inhabit and recreate that space at the Sensorium, a unique festival of the arts, literature and ideas at Goa’s Sunapranta Complex. A converging point, the festival will debut this weekend, bringing in historian-writer William Dalrymple, artist-photographer Dayanita Singh, screenwriter-photographer Sooni Taraporevala and several others at the same venue.

From the collective archive of the Indian Memory Project to an Italian photographer Fausto Giaccone’s resurrection of Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s fictional town Macondo — the festival will not only put the spotlight on the arts but through its interdisciplinary line-up throw an alternate perspective on the artists as well. Booker Prize nominee Jeet Thayil can be discovered in a different element as he performs as a musician on the opening day.
