Two things to learn this week

Enlighten yourself with two new forms of craft — ply-split braiding and the lost wax process — when you sign up for these workshops

Lost wax technique
The lost wax technique has been used in India for centuries to create beautiful objects. And a great example to get inspired from is the full-scale lost wax bronze replica of sculptor Lorenzo Ghiberti’s Gates of Paradise (1425-52), a masterpiece of the Florentine Renaissance.

A session on this art technique has been organised as part of The Florentine Renaissance: The City as the Crucible of Culture exhibition and as a part of this workshop you can try your hand at making a wax object, interact with artisans and watch a video documenting the process.
