Among the most beloved actors of our time, Kajol has grown up in the shadow of cinematic legends. So, when asked to choose an icon for our weekly Timeless Beauty feature, Kajol didn&rsquo;t have to look too far.

It is this very spirit &mdash; fearless, witty, and fiercely independent &mdash; that has always separated Tanuja from her contemporaries. The effortless charm and striking modernity she brought to cinematic gems like &lsquo;Haathi Mere Saathi,&rsquo; &lsquo;Jewel Thief,&rsquo; and &lsquo;Mere Jeevan Saathi&rsquo; weren&rsquo;t just acting choices; they were a reflection of a woman who lived entirely on her own terms. <h2>Scripting Change</h2>
&lsquo;Tis the season for Cannes appearances and red-carpet nostalgia. Yet, amid the blur of flashbulbs and throwbacks, Kareena Mehta cuts a distinctly different figure. Now a prominent SoBo therapist, Kareena&rsquo;s 2019 Cannes debut came courtesy of an independent student film she featured in during her university days.

Unlike many, however, Kareena isn&rsquo;t peddling her currently trending glam-girl moment. Quite the opposite, in fact. Set to launch her debut book, Letters From Your Therapist: On Love and Loss, later this month, the Kare Counselling founder casually brushes off that prestigious moment as &ldquo;just a college project.&rdquo;
Nevertheless, that project sowed a vital seed. The film&rsquo;s core theme &mdash; mental health &mdash; has become her life&rsquo;s work. Dedicated to translating complex therapeutic concepts into accessible, everyday tools, Kareena is on a mission to build science-backed systems that make therapy feel less intimidating, encouraging reflection and dialogue far beyond the couch.
It is this work &mdash; not the red-carpet memories or tiered gowns &mdash; that has earned her supporters within the medical community. Acclaimed psychiatrist Dr Pervin Dadachandaji will join Kareena as a guest speaker at her Ballard Estate book launch on May 31. For Kareena, Cannes may have been a moment. But meaningful impact is the story she is truly interested in telling.

Designer Nachiket Barve had us giggling when he suggested all those not in Cannes should catch up for coffee &mdash; because it really does seem like the Croisette is completely inundated with Indians this year!
Case in point: on May 20, the Chopard rooftop at the iconic H&ocirc;tel Martinez got a heavy dose of desi energy when rap sensation Badshah took over the mic.

The moment the opening beats of Kala Chashma dropped, the ultra-glamorous terrace erupted. Dropping any standard red-carpet restraint, Dubai Bling star Farhana Bodi and actress Urvashi Rautela hit the dance floor, matching the track&rsquo;s infectious energy.&nbsp;
Also soaking in the electric atmosphere were Vedant Mahajan, Pooja Batra, and Iulia Vantur, fully embracing the wild vibe. With the Mediterranean as a backdrop, it was classic European luxury meets an unforgettable Mumbai-style afterparty &mdash; truly a rooftop takeover with tadka!
<h2>Table for two, crowd of a hundred</h2>
Rohit Sharma is a man after my own heart, and not on account of his cricketing brilliance. He possesses a deep, unapologetic love for food and, in a world full of calorie-counters, that makes him a kindred spirit.

Only last week, yours truly told the tale of the Hitman&rsquo;s deeply relatable fondness for Khau Gully classics like banana rasiyan and pav bhaji. These days, of course, his icon status prevents him from venturing into Mumbai&rsquo;s bustling bylanes for a bite, so Rohit has graduated to the city&rsquo;s best tables &mdash; in this case, The Table at Colaba. It&rsquo;s the kind of sophisticated SoBo haunt where he and his wife, Ritika, can usually savour a superlative meal without being bothered by selfie-seekers.&nbsp;
Well... usually.
Flashback to 2022: the then-skipper was spotted on his way into the eatery by a few hawkeyed passersby. Cue the absolute chaos. By the time he had finished his meal, a 100-strong crowd had collected outside. We can joke about it being a high-stakes hostage situation for fastidious foodies but, truth be told, it resulted in a lockdown. Nobody could leave &mdash; not Rohit, and certainly not the other diners &mdash;and it literally took the local police department to clear a path.
The kicker? From a friend who was there on the evening in question, I hear that Rohit was profoundly apologetic about the whole circus &mdash; making sure to soothe ruffled feathers all around. Now that is what I call a class act. Immaculate taste, zero ego.
