Q. How did you begin with Electronic Dance Music (EDM)?
A. Well, I don’t consider what I play as EDM (laughs). That’s an acronym invented in the US and has become synonymous with the throwaway Dance music that is played in Las Vegas, and at various music festivals by some of the more commercial DJs. The music I play is Underground House music, and I first got into it in 1988 when I visited Ibiza as a teenager and heard the origins of what became Acid House in the UK in the late 1980s and early ’90s.
