Today, the Ambedkar Reading Circle and Bombay Tamil History will join hands to host a day-long celebration of Dr BR Ambedkar: Liberty, Equality, Fraternity. The event will begin with a reading of Dr Ambedkar’s most essential text Annihilation of Caste and his reply to Mahatma Gandhi appended to it.

This will be further discussed in the context of the Poona Pact, signed on September 24, 1932, between Mahatma Gandhi and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. The reading will be followed by a listening session of Bhim Geet led by Pooja Ashokkumar, founder of Bombay Tamil History, and will end with a screening of Jabbar Patel’s film Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar (2000), led by Pallavi Pillai.
