Make your photobooks and watch documentaries at an event in Mumbai

Browse through an array of photobooks, learn how to make your own, and watch documentaries at an event that boosts publishing in the realm of photography

In 2015, practitioners of photography working in Mumbai got together to form a platform called BIND for contemporary photography. But unlike the Instagram-inclined picture projects of today, this collective came into being with a specific interest in the photobook. Since then, it has organised travelling library pop-ups in the city as well as one in Kathmandu, offering readers access to books that are hard to come by. This Saturday, BIND is hosting its first library meet-up, featuring a new collection of books, a conversation on photobook making and a film screening.

"While we have had constant support from the photography and publishing communities through their generous contributions to our collection, we have started drawing up lists of independently published and limited-edition books that are not easy to find. We then reach out to publishers/artistes for the same," says Philippe Calia, one of the key contributor of BIND.
