WalkAbout Mumbai, co-founded by Deval Delivala, is creating opportunities for older adults to learn, socialise and find purpose beyond retirement. Its October 25 mixer in Fort aims to combat loneliness by helping participants build meaningful friendships

Everybody needs a purpose. For Deval Delivala, CEO and co-founder, WalkAbout Mumbai, this need extends past retirement too. Founded in 2021, the community-driven engagement initiative shifted from online to offline experiences last year. “We realised that everyone has a different idea of active agers. I don’t call them seniors,” she explains. One of those ideas will find form in this weekend’s community mixer at a Fort venue.
