Bandra’s Pastel Bakery and Patisserie pairs artisanal breads with coffee, desserts and a dedicated gelato counter

The Pastel De Nata, paired with dark chocolate gelato
Tucked inside a charming vintage bungalow in Bandra’s Chimbai Village, Pastel feels like a little discovery. Step inside and the noise of the city seems to fall away, replaced by the aroma of freshly baked bread and the promise of good coffee. Sharing the premises with a tattoo studio and the Jeff Goldberg Studio theatre, it has an eclectic neighbourhood character without feeling like it is trying too hard. Founded by twins Yash and Simran Advani with head chef Supriya Asgaonkar, Pastel takes a bread-first approach. There’s a dedicated bread bar, while the menu offers familiar options such as tartines, French toast and sandwiches.
