Watching Madhuri Dixit or Aishwarya Rai dazzle in chic sheer sarees in films must have inspired many to include it as a fashion essential in their wardrobes. Now, after years of missing from the scene, silky organza seems to be having a happy return. Yesha Dattani, a celebrity stylist, feels that this graceful fabric can perfectly be described as the Outfit of the Night.

Fashion for all ages

Dattani says that an organza saree can suit everyone, across ages. Organza is a versatile material with the added touch of elegance and adaptability that can give you contrasting looks depending on the way you style it.

Keeping up with the trend of sleeveless blouses, Gen Z can experiment with satin bralettes and strappy blouses to pair with their organza prints. Those who wish for a more easy-going accoutre could try dramatic or fancy sleeves to amp up their outfit.

If it is a printed organza saree, go easy with the patterns on the blouse and vice versa. You can play with colours or even choose the same coloured saree and blouse.

Choose your own time to slay

According to Dattani, organzas are flexible and can be dressed up or dressed down, depending on the occasion. You could wear a pastel or a hand-painted organza saree for a formal event. A nicely tied bun might just be the right thing for the outfit. Pair pretty jhumkas with a kada in one hand. But if you want to wear a necklace, minimal jewellery would do.

And if it’s a cocktail party, switch to a darker saree with a shimmer motif blouse and diamond jewellery. A choker with glitter or velvet bangles would look beautiful paired with loose bouncy hair or a loosely-tied bun. Organza sarees can also be paired with a bejewelled potli or a clutch to add some oomph to the outfit.

Watch out for these

. A challenge one might face with organza sarees is securing every end tightly as the fabric tends to slip out. You might want to move around a bit in the house before stepping out to check if it’s firm and secure. You could also add a bejewelled belt to your saree to add sparkle and make it sturdy.

. To minimise malfunctions, do not wear it to an event with any kind of activities demanding movement, games or events involving water  or swimming pools as the fabric is translucent.

. Stay away from safety pins as far as possible to extend the life and structure of your organza sarees.
