At the beginning of the lockdown last year, when stunning visuals of thousands of flamingos turning the Talawe wetlands into a sea of pink were doing the rounds, I stumbled upon the Instagram account @flamingosofmumbai, that’s run by birder Vidyasagar Hariharan. It’s been a real visual treat since then, catching up with the migratory birds as Hariharan posts dozens of pictures of his pink pals through the week.
You’ll find them photo-bombing each other, cuddling together to appear like a carpet, fishing around, gracefully swooping in on the Talawe wetlands, or casually chilling near DPS School Lake. The pictures that Hariharan posts are a mix of old and new, and almost make up for not being able to take a trip to Navi Mumbai to spot these beautiful creatures. Check it out, to add a dash of pink to your day.
