In her upcoming live show, the comic will deliver a set that addresses everything from the pandemic to her own love life

When comedian Urooj Ashfaq performed her first show, she had honestly titled it I’m Trying My Best. Since then, she’s been building on that set, adding new jokes, peppering it with more flavour. So, we believe her when she says that her upcoming gig is called This Time I’m Really Trying My Best. “I thought that when I work on the show a bit more, I’ll call it, ‘No, no, this is really the best, I promise’, and keep changing the name,” she chuckles.
The socially-distanced live show is set to take place at a Bandra-based comedy club, with temperature checks and disinfection measures in place. Ashfaq tells us that the set will cover a range of topics. “Some of it is about the pandemic; some of it is about my personal life. There are a lot of random jokes about topics ranging from sunglasses to animals. It’s a collection of some of my best jokes,” she shares. As she’s constantly adding more layers to the set while performing, it is a work in progress. Like she said, she’s really trying her best, guys.
