India’s chances look good

Shaili Mankad Antani, 29, CS, Andheri
You will not put it past India to win it this year. We have gone close a couple of times, but this looks like a good team. With Smriti [Mandhana] in good form, I would say India for sure.

Childhood passion

Jyoti Yadavar, 71, classical musician, Navi Mumbai
I grew up with cricket being a talk around the table. My father worked as an umpire for the Times Shield on his weekends. So, the love for the game was passed on. My favourite player has been Smriti Mandhana. As for favourites, I would not bet against India any time.

Watch out for South Africa

Mayuresh Talashilkar, 31, IT Professional, Dombivli
Smriti Mandhana and the team look on song to have a long run in the tournament, but keep an eye out for South Africa. As a sporting nation, they are always a threat in tournaments, be it their men or women. One of my favourite players is Smriti Mandhana, for her composure and presence.

Kiwis are dark horses

Abhishek Shetty, 32, Jogeshwari
As A cricket fan, I have been a huge fan of both formats of the game. The women have done exceptionally well in recent years, and one of my favourites is Jemimah Rodrigues. Her skill is immaculate, but she also plays with a smile. The competition looks tough this year, but India stands a good chance. Aside from them, I would root for New Zealand as the dark horses.
