A man has been arrested and remanded to police custody for allegedly raping a 21-year-old Irish woman, police said Sunday. &quot;We arrested Sujoy Mitra following a complaint of rape by an Irish woman who lives in the city. After the party ended in the early hours of Saturday, the woman dropped an inebriated Mitra to his house in Kalighat, where he allegedly raped her. The victim filed a police complaint, following which Mitra was arrested. &quot;After accompanying Mitra to his house, the lady stayed with him for nearly two hours and even had breakfast. The allegations are totally false and motivated. My client is a teetotaler,&quot; said Mitra&#39;s counsel Dibyendu Bhattachrya. Mitra was presented in a city court Sunday, which remanded him to police custody till June 5.
