Bengaluru man arrested for allegedly trying to extort Rs 2 crore from Mumbai developer

He works with a well-known cab aggregator company, and allegedly demanded money from the builder after claiming to be part of a well-known gangster’s group

The Malad police arrested a 34-year-old from Bengaluru on Wednesday for allegedly trying to extort Rs 2 crore from a Mumbai-based developer. The accused posed as a member of Kalyan’s alias Nanu Bhai’s gang. He has been identified as Mahesh Pujari, and works with a well-known cab aggregator. His wife is an actress.

The complainant, a well-known 62-year-old developer, is currently working on an SRA project in Andheri. The police said last year he had received calls from three different international numbers and the callers had demanded Rs 2 crore.
