Dehradun: A badly decomposed body of a woman was today recovered from the Yamuna river in Uttarkashi district with the police claiming it could be that of the Delhi-based tourist who was allegedly raped and murdered along with her male companion by a taxi driver and three others.

"The body of a woman was recovered by a joint search party of the police and SDRF from the river about 2 km beyond
Damta in Uttarkashi district at around 10.30 AM. We are very sure that the body belongs to the woman tourist from Delhi who was dumped after being murdered into the river," Uttarkashi Superintendent of Police J R Joshi told PTI.
