A 48-year-old woman inspector has complained that she was manhandled and molested by a Hadapsar corporator, after she took action against him and two others for violating traffic norms. The corporator, NCP’s Anand Alkute, then marched to the traffic deputy commissioner’s office to complain against her.

The senior cop has assured the parties of an inquiry in the matter. On Tuesday, Rehana Shaikh, inspector in charge of Hadapsar traffic branch, fined Alkute and two other men who work at Jyoti Motors - owned by the politician’s relative – for parking vehicles on footpath.
