The <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/mumbai-police-bust-drug-factory-in-maharashtra-seize-mephedrone-worth-rs-195-crore-three-held-23607611?button=next" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai police</a> probing the seizure of mephedrone worth Rs 115 crore in Maharashtra's Satara, on Wednesday said that they have so far not found any connection of the sarpanch of Dare village in the case, reported news agency PTI.
The crime branch is probing the seizure of the contraband and arrested three persons in Satara.
The trio was identified as Kayam Nizar Saddam (29), Razikul Rahman (30) and Habizul Islam (25), reported PTI.
One of the arrested accused is from Palghar, whereas two are from <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/maharashtra-mbvv-cops-bust-mephedrone-manufacturing-unit-in-rajasthan-drugs-and-raw-material-worth-rs-100-crore-seized-23607852" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Assam</a>, he said.
The mephedrone manufacturing unit was found operating from a cowshed in Savari village in Javali taluka of Satara, reported PTI.
As per the investigation so far in the case, police did not find any connection with Dare's village head Ranjeet with the case, the official said, adding that misinformation was being spread on various social media platforms related to the raid.
While investigating <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/mumbai-427-grams-of-mephedrone-worth-rs-9-06-crore-seized-in-goregaon-two-arrested-23596550" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">the case</a>, the name of one Onkar Tukaram Dighe (30) had come to surface, but after his questioning police did not find his role and he was allowed to go, he said, reported PTI.
<h2>Mephedrone manufacturing unit operating in cowshed busted in Satara district</h2>
Mumbai police has unearthed a mephedrone (MD) manufacturing unit in Maharashtra's Satara district and seized Rs 115-crore worth contraband by arresting three persons, officials said on Saturday, reported PTI.
A team of Ghatkopar Unit of the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-mephedrone-worth-rs-10-crore-seized-in-citywide-anti-narcotics-raids-23588708" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Crime Branch</a>, along with local police, found that the drug was being manufactured in a cowshed in Savari village in Jawali taluka on Friday, an official said.
Three workers from West Bengal were arrested on the spot, he said.
Earlier on October 9, the Crime Branch had seized 136 grams of mephedrone and arrested two drug peddlers. It led to the arrest of two suppliers from <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/mumbai-police-bust-mephedrone-manufacturing-unit-in-vasai-five-arrested-23600311" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Thane</a> and Pune, reported PTI.
The Pune resident told police that the drug was being manufactured in a cowshed at Savari village.
During Friday's raid, police seized 7.5 kg of <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/ncb-mumbai-seizes-134-kg-of-mephedrone-kingpin-of-drug-syndicate-and-his-wife-nabbed-from-goa-23600759" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">mephedrone</a> and 38 kg of liquid mephedrone, chemicals as well as raw material, valued at a total of Rs 115 crore, said the official.&nbsp;
