New Delhi: An 11-year-old boy was severely injured after his father allegedly attacked him with a knife when he tried to rescue his mother who was being beaten by the man in an inebriated state, police said today.

The incident took place last night at New Ashok Nagar areafollowing which a case of attempt to murder and other relevant sections of IPC was registered against the accused father, said DCP (East) B S Gurjar.
