Jailed gangster 'posts' extortion letter to Malad businessman

Almost two years after a person from Uday Pathak's gang fired at his shop, a Malad-based businessman received a letter seeking Rs 1 crore from the history-sheeter. The police said the letter was sent by speed post in the name of Pathak who is facing multiple cases, including the murder of four men in June 2011, and is in jail.
The complainant, Babulal Dhoodhchand Jain, 53, was at his shop on Thursday when he received the letter in his son Vikas's name. The envelope had the names of Pathak and two other gang members on it. Jain, in his statement, said that the letter began with the words 'Jai Mata Di' and further said Uday Pathak and his gang wish him a Happy New year.
