A 24-year-old man allegedly stabbed and injured two people after they refused to give him Rs 50 to buy cigarettes in Mumbra, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/kalyan-dog-attack-rabid-stray-dog-attacks-nearly-130-people-in-seven-hours-25-hospitalised-in-maharashtras-kalyan-23644112" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Maharashtra's Thane district</a>, police said on Monday, reported the PTI.
The incident took place on the evening of August 5 on Amrut Nagar Darga Road. The accused, identified as Fardam Ibrahim Mansuri, is yet to be arrested, police said.
According to police, Mansuri allegedly approached Jibran Imran Khan and asked him for Rs 50 to buy cigarettes, the news agency reported.
When Khan refused to give him the money, Mansuri allegedly became angry and attacked him with a knife.
He also allegedly stabbed 19-year-old Escalen Nisar Kazi during the incident.
<h2>Victims suffer hand injuries</h2>
Both <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/mumbai-kurar-woman-stabbed-to-death-by-husband-during-quarrel-suspect-flees-from-hospital-23644115" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">victims sustained injuries</a> to their hands, according to police.
Following the incident, Mumbra Police registered a case against Mansuri under Section 110 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), relating to an attempt to commit culpable homicide, according to the PTI.
Police have launched an investigation and are searching for the accused.
Mansuri remains at large, police said.
Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the attack and efforts are underway to locate and arrest the accused, as per the PTI.
<h2>Woman stabbed to death by husband during quarrel</h2>
Meanwhile, in an another incident, a 29-year-old woman, a pathology laboratory worker was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband during a domestic dispute at their home in Kurar Village, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/mumbai-police-arrest-two-for-duping-malad-siblings-of-rs-77-67-lakh-in-sra-flat-fraud-23643315" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Malad East in Mumbai</a>, in the early hours of Sunday, police said.
The accused allegedly took his injured wife to a hospital but fled after doctors declared her dead. The couple's four-year-old child was left behind, according to police.
The deceased, Suchita Akash Salunkhe, 29, lived with her husband, Akash Salunkhe, at Shivsagar Society in Tanaji Nagar, Kurar Village.
Police said the couple had married for love and had a four-year-old child. Suchita worked at a pathology laboratory, while Akash was unemployed and was allegedly addicted to alcohol and drugs.
Investigators said the couple frequently quarrelled, with Akash allegedly suspecting his wife's character.
The situation reportedly turned violent during another argument in the early hours of Sunday. Police allege that Akash picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Suchita in the chest, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/2017-mumbai-murder-case-after-nine-years-on-the-run-murder-case-suspect-nabbed-by-mumbai-police-from-goa-23643321" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">causing serious injuries</a>.
<h2>Victim taken to hospital</h2>
After realising that Suchita was severely injured, Akash allegedly sought help from friends and took her to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital, also known as Shatabdi Hospital, in Kandivali West.
Doctors examined Suchita and declared her dead on arrival, police said.
Police said Akash allegedly fled the hospital soon after doctors declared his wife dead.
He has remained untraceable since the incident, prompting the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/mumbai-crime-man-killed-three-injured-in-stabbing-at-kurar-two-arrested-23634092" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Kurar Police</a> to launch a search for him.
The circumstances surrounding the alleged attack and the events leading up to it are being investigated.
<h2>Case registered</h2>
Kurar Police have registered a case under relevant provisions of the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-crime-news/article/digital-arrest-scam-mumbai-police-bust-rs-1-67-crore-digital-arrest-scam-7-held-23644106" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)</a>.
Police are conducting searches to locate the accused and establish the circumstances of the alleged killing. Further investigation is underway.
