Maharashtra: 27-year-old man evading arrest held by Thane Crime Branch's Property Cell

The Property Cell of Thane Crime Branch arrested a 27-year-old man who was wanted in an attempt to murder case and had been evading arrest from last seven months

Thane crime branch's property cell has arrested an 27-year-old man who was wanted in an attempt to murder case from last seven months, a police official said on Tuesday.


The police said that the accused had allegedly shifted from Thane to Diva in Maharashtra to avoid police action against him and was withholding his identity. However, after receiving information about the accused visiting the Thane court to meet an accused during a case hearing the police laid a trap and nabbed him. 


The police said that the suspect was identified as Dhiraj Jonappa Shimon alias Saimon.


He was wanted in an attempt to murder case registered at the Kapurbawadi Police station under section 307, 323, 504, 506 (2), 143, 144, 147, 148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code.

Prashant Bhurke, a police constable from property cell of Thane Crime Branch received information about the accused coming to meet an accused arrested in extortion case in court.

The police said, information was received about the accused coming near the government rest house accordingly a trap was laid and he was detained.

"We have arrested the accused and handed over him to the Kapurbawadi Police Station. They are further investigating the matter, Anand Raorane," Senior Police Inspector, Property Cell said.
