In a shocking incident two sheep were killed due to electrocution in Vasai area of Palghar district in Maharashtra. The sheep were brought for Bakrid and were left to graze on Monday morning and came in contact with an electric pole.

The incident took place in the Devtalab area of Vasai on Monday.

According to the information received, three sheep, which were brought by a person for sacrifice in view of the upcoming Bakrid festival, were left to graze this morning. The electric pole near the transformer had possibly become live, and two sheep came in contact with it and died on the spot.

Local resident Sameer Vartak accused the Maharashtra State Electricity Board of negligence and told mid-day, “In the last few days, three people have died due to negligence, including an electrician of the electricity board. Today, this accident happened with an animal. The place where this incident happened is a valley. There is an auto stand there and also a road to go to school. Anyone can have an accident, I demand from the administration that action should be taken against the concerned department.”
