Man dies after tempo dashes into 2-wheeler

A 48-year-old man from Warje died while his daughter suffered serious injuries after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding container at Narhe Bridge near Katraj on Wednesday afternoon
A 48-year-old man from Warje died while his daughter suffered serious injuries after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding container at Narhe Bridge near Katraj on Wednesday afternoon. The Hinjewadi police arrested the tempo driver, who tried to flee from the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Shailesh Shambhu Sadik (48). His daughter Prerna (22) was admitted to a nearby hospital. The container driver Sonu Suryanath Yadav (21), from Manpada in Mumbai, has been arrested. Shailesh’s son Anubhav (19) has registered a case against Yadav at Dattawadi police station.
Dattawadi police said Shailesh and his daughter were going to Warje from Katraj, when Yadav dashed Shailesh’s two-wheeler, after which he died on the spot. Yadav then sped towards Hinjewadi, but traffic police alerted the police and Yadav was intercepted near Hinjewadi and arrested.
