Madurai: A 33-year old man was arrested after he allegedly attempted to tie mangalasutra to a teenaged girl in a running bus near here today, police said.

Kallanai, a saleman in a TASMAC liquor outlet, used to tease the girl while she used to travel by bus to her school. This morning he sprang up from his seat in the bus and tried to tie the mangalasutra around the neck of the girl when the alert girl foiled it and slapped him with a footwear.
