Mumbai Police detain alleged repeat NDPS offender under preventive detention law; 37-year-old sent to Nashik jail

The Mumbai Crime Branch's Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) has detained a 37-year-old alleged drug peddler under the PIT-NDPS Act, 1988. Police said the accused, who has multiple NDPS cases registered against him, was detained to prevent him from allegedly resuming narcotics trafficking after securing bail

In a preventive action against repeat narcotics offenders, the Mumbai Crime Branch’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) has detained a 37-year-old alleged drug peddler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act, 1988.
The accused, identified as Usman Abdul Kadar Shaikh alias Sonu, is a resident of Halima Manzil on Clare Road in Nagpada. He was served the detention order at Taloja Jail on Friday. Shaikh will now be lodged at Nashik Central Jail for a period of one year.
