The Bandra unit of the Mumbai Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) on Saturday landed a large drug seizure when a chance questioning of a suspicious-looking person near Khar revealed that he had been carrying drugs and cash worth Rs 42 lakh.
As per the statement of ANC officials, its unit was patrolling the Khar area when they spotted a man carrying a bag and looking suspicious. On enquiring with him, the man-now identified as Vile Parle West resident Al D’Souza-blurted to the cops that he was carrying drugs in the bag. D’Souza, who said he had been peddling drugs for one and half years, had been carrying 1.12 kg of Manali charas, worth R33.6 lakh, 250 gm of foreign ganja, worth R6.25 lakh, and cash amounting to Rs 2.15 lakh.
