Mumbai court sentences man to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment for raping elderly woman

The accused had in 2018 lured the 75-year-old woman into his rickshaw and taken her to a hilly area near Virar, where he had raped and robbed her, police said

A Mumbai court on Monday sentenced a 40-year-old autorickshaw driver to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment for raping and robbing a 75-year-old woman in 2018, officials said.

The verdict was delivered by Additional Sessions Judge S. M. Agarkar at the Dindoshi Sessions Court.
