A 27-year-old man, identified as Sahil Gujjar, was brutally stabbed to death late on Saturday night following a dispute with illegal parking mafia in Mumbai's Malad area.

According to information received, the incident occurred on Lagoon Road near Plot No 50 in Malwani, when Gujjar, who worked as a driver with Ola on a rented car, had gone to drop the vehicle off with the owner. A heated argument reportedly broke out between the car owner and a man operating illegal parking in the area.

When Gujjar tried to intervene, the accused called in his associates. Around 10 to 15 men allegedly gathered at the spot and launched an attack on Gujjar. During the scuffle, one of the attackers stabbed him in the stomach with a knife.

A severely injured Gujjar was rushed to Shatabdi Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries early on Sunday during treatment.

Gujjar, a resident of Ganesh Nagar in Kandivali (West), was to get married on August 30. He is survived by his parents, three younger brothers, and a sister.

The Malwani Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
