Mumbai Crime: 8 arrested for impersonating cops, stealing Rs 12 crore from hotel

A case was registered under sections 392, 170 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Vile Parle police station against unknown persons.

The police arrested eight persons in connection with a robbery in Vile Parle. On February 17, some unidentified persons posing as cops raided a five-star hotel in Vile Parle and ‘seized’ Rs 12 crore.


A case was registered under sections 392, 170 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Vile Parle police station against unknown persons.


Acting on a tip off, the investigation team zeroed in on the accused and arrested eight persons. Further investigation is underway.
