In a shocking incident an 80-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping his eight-year-old neighbor. The man lived alone and the neighbours used to feed and shelter him as per reports by the<a title="Rape of minor" href="https://www.hindustantimes.com/mumbai-news/he-s-a-bad-man-how-8-year-old-mumbai-girl-helped-cops-nab-neighbour-who-raped-her/story-PL1I22Beaw2i5GRQzhdqlO.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> Hindustan Times</a>. The incident came to light when the girl told her mother one day after she had started learning English.
She described the man as 'bad man'. The mother of the child got suspicious and questioned her and learnt that the man had called her into his home on the pretext of returning the plate he was served dinner on. She said that the man then raped her and had told her that he would assault her parents if she told anybody about the incident.
The mother then took her daughter to KEM hospital where tests confirmed that the child had in fact been raped. B Bansod, senior police inspector of RAK Marg police station said, "Based on the mother&rsquo;s complaint, the police arrested the accused under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code for rape and sections of the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act."
