A 19-year-old boy was arrested from Colaba recently for stealing gold jewellery worth Rs 14 lakh and an iPhone from his Instagram friend’s flat with the help of duplicate house keys the girl had forgotten with him some days before.
The accused, Shaizaan Agwan, a resident of Mazgaon, was arrested on charges of theft and house break-in. On Friday, the girl’s family lodged a complaint at Colaba police station, alleging that when they returned from a tour on January 27, they found the ornaments, cash and other valuables including an iPhone missing from their safe. The family lives in Pasta Lane in Colaba. They were shocked as there was no sign of forced entry into the flat, stated a report in The Times of India.
