A wanted accused in a Delhi NDPS case died after falling off the third floor flat in Malad while trying to escape from the cops who had come knocking on his door on Tuesday afternoon. According to the Bangur Nagar police, they had received information from Janakpuri police station in Delhi about a wanted accused, identified as David Hari Roy, 48, who was wanted in an NDPS case since 2017 and was staying in Evershine Nagar. On Tuesday, a police team from Janakpuri police arrived in Mumbai and asked for help from the Bangur Nagar police to verify his residence.

The Janakpuri police team along with the Bangur Nagar police reached the flat but when they knocked on the door repeatedly they did not get any response. The officers said that the police team enquired with the neighbouring flats but no one seemed to be aware of him. As they were leaving the building and reached the gate of the society, a local resident told them that a man had fallen off the third floor. The officers went to the spot to find a man wearing a helmet lying in a pool of blood. When they removed the helmet they found that it was Roy and rushed him to Shatabdi hospital, Borivli. However, he died in the night, said an officer from Bangur Nagar police station.
