A man was recently arrested for negligence after the labourer he hired to repair his house at MHADA’s Sadguru Society in Malad (West) died of electrocution after touching a live wire inside a wall.

The incident occurred around 11 am on Saturday when the labourer, Shivram Kale, 40, touched a live wire while repairing a wall, said Malvani police, as per a report in The Times of India.

“The accused was arrested under the Indian Penal Code section 304 (A) (causing death by negligence). He was released on bail after being produced before the court on Saturday,” said Malvani police senior inspector Shekar Bhalearo.

Police said the accused was arrested on the complaint received from Kale’s mother Yamunabai, 65, alleging that her son died because the accused did not follow safety measures.
